Chaplain educator appointed VP of Bayan Claremont Graduate School
Munir Shaikh, who is participating the Chaplaincy Innovation Lab – Boston University project Educating Effective Chaplains, has been appointed Vice President of Operations and Academic Affairs at Bayan Islamic Graduate School. From Bayan:
This appointment reflects Munir’s leadership and management of numerous areas of Bayan’s administration, including, but not limited to, academic planning and curriculum management.
Regarding this promotion, Bayan’s founding president, Jihad Turk, says “The future of Bayan is looking bright due in large part to the high-level administrative talent that Munir Shaikh brings to the table. I have known Munir for over 40 years. He is a person of integrity, dedication, humility and vision. His brilliant intellect is matched in size only by his heart and passion for the community. I cannot think of a better partner in the project of building an institution of higher learning for the American Muslim community than Munir.” Mr. Shaikh has been teaching as a Bayan faculty member and serving as the director of academic affairs since the founding of Bayan in 2011.
Munir shares that “it has been truly gratifying to apply my background in the contexts of non-profit administration and academia to assist in the further development of Bayan as a premier higher education institution. I am grateful to President Turk and the Bayan board for their confidence and support, and for creating an environment where team members can thrive and develop their talents, and I look forward to exciting developments ahead for the school, and seeing the fruits produced by our graduates out in the world.”
Congratulations, Munir!
