Lavender Kelly

Lavender Kelley, BCC, MDiv

Staff Chaplain – Children’s National Hospital

Lavender “Lav” Kelley is a board-certified pediatric chaplain in Washington, D.C., with two decades of experience. They support children with complex medical diagnoses, attending to often-overlooked mental health, spiritual, and relational needs. Currently completing a Doctor of Ministry degree focused on spiritual care for survivors of sexual trauma, Lav brings lived experience as a native Appalachian and cancer survivor. Their passion lies in accompanying those who feel unseen in the midst of suffering. Lav’s advocacy spans poverty, mental health, and human rights at the intersections of gender, race, disability, and class.
