
George Fitchett
George Fitchett, D.Min., Ph.D. is Professor and the Director of Research in the Department of Religion, Health, and Human Values, Rush University Medical Center, Chicago Illinois. He is a Board Certified chaplain (APC) and Chaplain Educator (ACPE). In addition to his chaplaincy training, George holds a PhD in epidemiology. He is the director of Transforming Chaplaincy, whose mission is to promote evidence-based spiritual care. He is an editor of Evidence-based Healthcare Chaplaincy: A Research Reader (Jessica Kingsley, 2018), and two books of chaplain case studies: Spiritual Care in Practice (2015) and Case Studies in Spiritual Care (2018). He is a Co-PI of an NIH-funded study of chaplain and nurse-led Dignity Therapy for cancer patients who are receiving palliative care.
