The Columbus Dispatch: Hospital chaplains are finding new ways to care
From Danae King at the Columbus Dispatch:
“We’re still doing our core mission … to provide emotional and spiritual support to patients, families and staff,” said Hanci Newberry, chaplaincy director at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. “We have to do it in new ways.”
Chaplains also can be with patients and their families via videoconferencing on iPads or over an intercom as they are dying, so they can offer support while staying far enough away to limit the spread of the disease.
