Conversation Circles

Spiritual care providers are on the forefront of care at a time when we need it deeply. And so we invite you to a profound and generative community of spiritual care professionals.

We’ve received very favorable feedback from past Chaplaincy Conversation Circles participants, so we’re pleased to say that applications are now open! This is our fourth year of Conversation Circles to support your practice of spiritual care in a climate-changed world.

In these Circles, participants offer support for personal and professional well-being, community-building, and skill development. Past participants have come from diverse sectors and locations to explore the dynamic work of climate-conscious chaplaincy.

[Partner Event] Campus Chaplaincy: Spiritual Care and Community Belonging

The practice of chaplaincy is characterized by the professional provision of spiritual care within diverse settings. In higher education, chaplains may serve as representatives of their faith group or as care providers within multi-faith contexts. They bring expertise in ethics, faith development, religious practices, spiritual care, and interreligious engagement. In addition, campus chaplains advocate for the needs and well-being of their communities, cultivating relationships among campus partners, while also providing leadership in times of conflict and crisis.

IFS-based CPE Unit

Course
The Inner Sanctuary Institute invites clergy, chaplains, and ministry leaders into a new model of Clinical Pastoral Education grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS). This 12-week Intensive summer unit combines traditional CPE formation with IFS practices that deepen self-awareness, spiritual discernment, and compassionate presence in complex ministry settings.

Building on support groups offered in partnership with the Chaplaincy Innovation Lab during the pandemic, Boston University’s Danielsen Institute has developed an 8-week online program—with group and individual formats—that offers a transitional space for reflection, respite, connection, and growth.
