Career opportunity: chaplain, Hospice of Hope, northeastern Kentucky

Hospice of Hope, a rural non-profit hospice serving the northeastern Kentucky counties of Mason, Fleming, Bracken, Lewis, Robertson and Pendleton and the south-central Ohio counties of Adams, Brown, Clermont, Clinton, Highland and Pike has an opening for a full time Hospice Chaplain to provide care in facilities and homes in our Kentucky service area. The Chaplain is an integral part of the interdisciplinary team providing emotional and spiritual support to patients and families, ensuring standards of care are met in a team-oriented setting.  Develops, provides and documents spiritual care based on patient need. Provides education on the hospice concept to terminally ill patients, their families, and the community.  Acts as a liaison between the community clergy, the patient’s clergy, and hospice.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Theological Seminary or Divinity School, Master of Divinity Degree required. One unit of CPE required, experience in healthcare and knowledge of death, dying and bereavement preferred.  Residency within service area required.  Valid driver’s license required, good driving record and residence in service area required. Monday – Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, with on call hours as scheduled.
