A New Curricular Focus in the Air Force Chaplaincy Education Curriculum

Chaplain, Major Tara L. Dixon serves as a Staff Chaplain at the Air Force Chaplain Corps College located at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. In this capacity, Chaplain Dixon is responsible for assisting the Deputy Commandant in the design, development, and execution of curriculum and courses in the college. She manages and administers education course design and format, as well as development of future educational courses benefiting the Chaplain Corps.
Chaplain, Lieutenant Colonel Glen E. Harris, Jr. serves as the Deputy Commandant and Director, Education Division at the Air Force Chaplain Corps College, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. He is responsible for assisting the Commandant in the education and training of 2,200 Department of the Air Force Chaplain Corps personnel, to include: 1375 Active Duty, Reserve, and Air National Guard Chaplains and 760 Religious Affairs Airmen. The impact of his mission is a well-educated and trained Chaplain Corps serving 800,000 active-duty, Guard, Reserve, and civilian forces worldwide.
Dr. William W. Nicholas IV is the Curriculum and Faculty Development Director for the Air Force Chaplain Corps College involving eight professional continuing education courses. He began his career in the Air Force in 1976-1982. In 1985 he returned and joined the NCO Leadership School Staff and in 1990 he moved to the Hickam NCO Academy as an instructor and manager of the Airman Leadership School program. He held various responsibilities related to education assignments. In 2005 he retired from active duty and continued his career in civil service as an instructor in reserve and officer training schools as well as leadership roles with the Community College of the Air Force and in 2020 his current role at the Chaplain Corps College.
