Online Mental Health Chaplaincy Training

Program Overview

McLean Hospital’s online Mental Health CPE program responds to the growing need for chaplains to expand their capacities in providing specialized person-centered spiritual care. In this 13-week program participants will develop skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to effectively engage individuals and groups in mental health chaplaincy. This program is delivered in an accessible online format.

• Board Certified Chaplains
• Chaplains working towards certification
• Experienced Clergy and spiritual care providers
• Interprofessional mental health & spiritual care learners

What You’ll Build

• Mental Health spiritual assessment & spiritual care planning
• Group spiritual care leadership & protocol facilitation
• Relational capacity, emotional boundaries, and professional identity in Mental Health Chaplaincy
• Mental health competencies and mental health chaplaincy skills

Program Requirements

• At least 300 clinical hours in your mental health setting and 100 education hours
• Weekly schedule: 8-10 hours of educational work, 20-22 hours weekly of direct spiritual care
• Tuition: $50 application fee; $3,200 due in the first week
