Field Guide for Aspiring Chaplains

In partnership with the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation and supporting institutions in education, the Lab is pleased to continue the Field Guide to becoming a chaplain in the spring of 2023 for those considering a career in spiritual care.

Beginner's guide ebookThe Field Guide for Aspiring Chaplains series is intended to offer a basic introduction to the profession of chaplaincy, from education and training through to practice. Each session includes an in-depth conversation with spiritual care practitioners on topics of key importance to those considering careers in chaplaincy; there are also opportunities for small-group discussion afterward (not recorded). You can view recordings from previous sessions below. Those interested in our Field Guide series should also download our free eBook Beginner’s Guide to Spiritual Care, now available here.

The Field Guide series is offered at no cost thanks to the generous support of our sponsors (listed below). As we want to keep these conversations as dynamic as possible, we will use a simple Zoom room for these events. You may register for the Field Guide series here.
