Cynthia I. Cheshire
As a Campus Minister serving a public liberal arts college, I meet my community where they are to help them find two things: the spiritual in the everyday, and the everyday in the spiritual.
Most of the people I serve come to campus with no particular religious identity, so my work is innovative and fluid: I give guest lectures and then deliver lunches (and spiritual care) to our students in quarantine/isolation.
I meet a staff member for coffee and then hold an event about grief.
I even have a “Postcard Confessional” where participants “send” anonymous secrets, but really they’re being walked through an Examination of Conscience.
