Melanie Monteclaro Pace
Community Chaplain, Charlottesville, Virginia
Mel provides creative community chaplaincy to pagans, humanists, and the spiritual-but-not religious through Ancient Blue Hills: Pagan, Humanist, and Interfaith Support. This online spiritual collaborative emerged from her first unit of ‘parish-based’ CPE in 2020, during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Mel is particularly interested in supporting people who are navigating spiritual transitions, including departure from and/or boundary-setting with religious community; interfaith and multifaith identities and experiences; exvangelical experiences; the spiritual but not religious; and queer and trans spiritual journeys. Mel also loves guiding peer-facilitated spiritual and humanist discussion groups, including her ongoing monthly Zoom book chat “Discworld as Radical Praxis: Discussions on Terry Pratchett’s Discworld.”
