Webinar
2025-03-12 WIDE Level 1

What does it look like to provide spiritual care in a Level 1 Trauma Center? By definition, a Level 1 center “is a comprehensive regional resource…capable of providing total care for every aspect of injury – from prevention through rehabilitation.” Where do chaplains fit into this service?

We’ll hear from two chaplains who serve at University of Chicago Medicine and work with patients and families all the way from the Emergency Department to inpatient care. They’ll share their academic preparation for the role, what they needed to learn on the job, and what those interested in healthcare trauma chaplaincy should consider for their careers.

We have indexed this webinar’s learning outcomes to the following ACPE outcomes and BCCI competencies. This should not be construed as endorsement by ACPE, APC, or BCCI:

BCCI PPS4: Triage and manage crises in the practice if spiritual care

BCCI PPS5: Provide spiritual care to persons experiences loss and grief

ACPE D.1.1A.12: Demonstrate the ability to represent one’s role and function with initiating spiritual care relationships.
