John Winslow
Healthcare Chaplain
John grew up on a farm and in an interchurch family in Washington State, where he first learned the values of hospitality, kindness, and open-heartedness that would guide his work as a chaplain.
He earned a BA in Religious Studies and English Writing from Gonzaga University, after which he spent a year of service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Washington, D.C.
John graduated with a Master of Divinity from the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry and is a lay ecclesial minister in the Catholic Church.
While an M. Div. student, John worked in providing spiritual and emotional support to the LGBTQ+ community in various contexts, including his first unit of CPE focused on the spiritual care of LGBT Elders.
John’s work as a chaplain is guided by the principles of incarnation, sacramentality, and liberation, and he believes that spiritual care and social justice are intimately connected.
John works as a healthcare chaplain in the San Francisco Bay Area.
