Katherine K. Henderson, MRP, MDiv
Chaplain, Duke Outpatient Clinic
Ms. Henderson originated the role of Chaplain at the Duke Outpatient Clinic, a hospital-based clinic in Durham, NC that provides adult primary care to underserved patient populations. She attended seminary mid-career after studying biology (NYU) and urban planning (UNC-Chapel Hill) and working for a decade as a consultant on sustainable development and transit projects. Ms. Henderson completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education at Duke University Hospital and the Durham VA while earning her Master of Divinity from Chicago Theological Seminary. At the Duke Outpatient Clinic, Ms. Henderson provides individual and group spiritual care with a focus on bereavement support for those suffering in the wake of traumatic loss.
