Kerry Maloney
Chaplain and Director of Religious and Spiritual Life, Harvard Divinity School
As a higher education chaplain for several decades, I have had the immense privilege to dwell at the intersection of the intellectual and spiritual life with countless students, faculty, and staff. My work ranges from supporting social justice initiatives to sitting with the bereaved, from teaching courses to organizing community rituals, from offering spiritual direction to seekers of all faiths and none to participating in crisis management teams, from supervising a group of clinical interns each year to attending dozens of student spiritual events on campus each week. I am a strong advocate for those who identify as secular on our campuses as well as for those who are affiliated with specific (and, sometimes, several) spiritual traditions. This work of accompanying people in their most vulnerable, poignant, or joyous experiences is amazing in its breadth, diversity, challenge, and beauty.
