Rev. Robert Spach
Chaplain, Davidson College
I have served as the chaplain at Davidson College (Davidson, NC) since 1993. I grew up in Brazil as the son of American educators with the Presbyterian Church. My bi-cultural upbringing as a “third-culture kid” led me to serve as a pastor in in-between spaces, working with people of all religious traditions and spiritual practices. After earning my M.Div. and being ordained as a Presbyterian Church (USA) minister, I came directly to Davidson. During my 28 years here, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing our community move from being ecumenical Christian to being genuinely multi-faith. I work with Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant student organizations, as well as others that are Buddhist, culturally Hindu, Islamic, Jewish, Latter-Day Saint, and spiritual but not religious.
