Rabbi Robert Tabak, PhD, BCC, received his BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his doctorate in American history from Temple University.  He is a graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.   He served as associate director of the Board of Rabbis of Greater Philadelphia.  For over 13 years he was a staff chaplain at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.  He is a past board member and officer of Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains.  He has researched and written about Jewish chaplaincy, including contributing an article on non-military chaplains to the 2007 edition of the Encyclopaedia Judaica.
