The Riley Hospital for Children Hospital Manager, exists to provide management of the work of chaplains in designated organization facilities. Supervises the performance of chaplains and or chaplain educators, residents, and interns assigned to spiritual care ministry at a particular campus (Riley Children’s Hospital). Recruits, hires, evaluates, disciplines and terminates staff when necessary. Participates in facility-based management meetings. Rounds regularly on clinical and operational managers, directors and some vice presidents, offering spiritual, emotional and cultural care, as well as consulting about the needs of the clinical unit, department or facility. Participates in budget development and assists in maintaining budget allowances at appropriate levels. Audits length of stay visits, timely responses to Cerner referrals, maintains 24/7 chaplain on call coverage schedule, assesses standard documentation practices. Completes CMs for chaplains assigned. Participates in departmental Management Team meetings and collaborates to provide coordination at other facilities as needed. Provides pastoral care to patients, their support persons and to the organization staff. The incumbent may also provide educational services to students. This position reports directly to the Director of the department and will be the primary departmental liaison with the Chief Administrative Officer of the facility.
