Assistant Dean for Ministry Studies and Chaplaincy Education
Harvard Divinity School seeks an Assistant Dean for Ministry Studies and Chaplaincy Education to lead clinical education in chaplaincy and spiritual care. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Ministry Studies, this role will develop and direct a school-based Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program in HDS’s multireligious context. The Assistant Dean will design curriculum, lead ACPE accreditation and compliance, build clinical partnerships, supervise CPE students and educators, evaluate the program, and advise students pursuing chaplaincy and spiritual care careers. The role also supports Field Education and MDiv advising. Qualifications: bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, at least seven years of relevant experience, and ACPE Certified Educator certification in good standing.
An MDiv or equivalent graduate degree, chaplaincy experience, and board certification are preferred. Strong communication, organizational, supervisory, and partnership-building skills are required. HDS cannot provide visa sponsorship.
