A Four-Session Online Course with Chaplain Stephen Faller

Tuesdays, December 1, 8, 15, and 22, 2026
8:00–9:30 PM Eastern | Live on Zoom
Tuition: $150 for the complete series

Spiritual Midwifery is a disciplined way of helping another person bring forth the meaning already stirring within them. Rather than beginning with answers, interpretations, or solutions, the spiritual caregiver learns to listen for what is emerging through story, silence, grief, resistance, faith, and contradiction.

Designed for chaplains, clergy, CPE students, spiritual directors, therapists, pastoral caregivers, and others engaged in the care of persons, the series moves from the foundational metaphor of midwifery to its logic, practical techniques, and vocational significance.

The Four Sessions

December 1 — Midwife, Baby, Medicine
The foundational metaphor and relationships of spiritual midwifery.

December 8 — Midwifery as Inductive Logic
Listening for emerging meaning rather than imposing predetermined answers.

December 15 — Key Techniques of Spiritual Midwifery
Presence and absence, questioning, parable, kenosis, advance and retreat.

December 22 — Why Midwifery?
The ethical, spiritual, and vocational significance of helping without taking over.
