The Emerging Role of Professional Chaplains in Psychedelic Care
Following on from the Lab’s webinar “What Chaplains Should Know About Psychedelic Medicines,” this webinar by Transforming Chaplaincy will discuss how chaplains themselves can get involved in supporting patients, families, and doctors connected to psychedelic interventions.
When offered in safe and ethical settings with skilled practitioners, psychedelic medicines can enhance spiritual connection and bring relief from suffering caused by PTSD, depression, anxiety, and existential distress.
A small but growing number of professional chaplains are serving as psychedelic practitioners while contributing to a fuller understanding of these therapies’ benefits and potential risks. This presentation will consider the crucial contributions that professional chaplains offer to psychedelic therapies and current/emerging pathways for spiritual care practitioners to enter this burgeoning field.
